Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #113

The 'Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft' series emerged as a staple of West German comic culture, serving as a dedicated home for long-form Disney stories that often exceeded the page counts of standard weekly periodicals. Initiated by the Ehapa-Verlag in the mid-1960s, the series capitalized on the post-war popularity of Carl Barks' duck universe, providing German readers with high-quality reprints of classic American adventures that had previously seen limited exposure.

Issue #113 reflects the mid-to-late 1970s editorial direction of the publication, which curated a blend of international Disney output, predominantly featuring works by prolific Dutch and American artists tasked with expanding the lore of Duckburg. The design adhered to the series' iconic aesthetic, utilizing a distinctive format that prioritized narrative depth and vivid, reliable printing standards, which helped cement the publication as a foundational element of European comic fandom and established a enduring legacy for the Donald Duck franchise across the German-speaking world.
