Where it came from
Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft, often referred to by collectors as the DDSH, is a long-running German comic book series first launched in 1965 by Ehapa Verlag. The series was designed to provide a dedicated venue for the high-quality Disney comics being produced by Western Publishing in the United States, specifically focusing on the works of Carl Barks and later, Don Rosa, which were highly popular with the German audience.
Issue number 115 was produced as part of this ongoing effort to curate the best of the duck-universe lore for a mature readership. During this era of the series, the editorial team maintained a focus on the distinct storytelling style established by the Disney Studio program, ensuring that the visual aesthetic and characterizations aligned with the classic Barksian tradition that anchored the publication's success in the European market for decades.
