Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #118

Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft, often referred to as the DDSH, is a long-running German comic book series first launched in 1965. Originally conceived to reprint classic material from American Disney comic books, particularly those featuring the work of Carl Barks, the series became a cornerstone for European Disney fandom. Issue #118 was published during the mid-1980s, a period when the series had firmly established itself as a home for high-quality, long-form narratives that were otherwise unavailable in the standard Mickey Mouse weekly magazines.

The design and editorial philosophy behind this series prioritized the iconic storytelling of the 'Good Duck Artist' era. These issues typically featured a combination of classic Barks adventures, supplemental stories by other notable creators like Tony Strobl or Paul Murry, and distinct cover art that showcased the quintessential personality of Donald Duck. The series was received with high regard by German readers, who valued the larger format and the carefully curated selection of stories that leaned into the adventurous, treasure-hunting spirit of Duckburg.
