Dragon Ball Chāo: Qīlóngzhū Chāo #21

Dragon Ball Super, known in its native Chinese serialization as Dragon Ball Chāo, represents the official continuation of Akira Toriyama's seminal martial arts saga. Chapter 21, released as part of the ongoing monthly publication in V-Jump, serves as a pivotal installment during the Future Trunks arc. This era of the series was developed to bridge the narrative gap following the conclusion of Dragon Ball Z, with Toriyama providing the foundational plot outlines and character designs while Toyotarou serves as the primary illustrator, noted for his ability to emulate Toriyama's dynamic kinetic style while introducing his own refined paneling techniques.

The reception of this specific chapter was marked by its intense focus on the confrontation between the protagonists and the antagonist Goku Black. Critics and long-term fans generally lauded the expansion of the franchise's lore regarding the nature of divinity and time travel within the Dragon Ball multiverse. By the time of the twenty-first issue, the series had established a firm footing in the modern manga landscape, successfully balancing the nostalgic appeal of the original series with contemporary high-stakes combat sequences that emphasize the rapid escalation of power levels inherent to the franchise.
