Dragon Ball Chāo: Qīlóngzhū Chāo #20

Dragon Ball Super, known in its native Japanese context as Dragon Ball Chāo, represents the continuation of Akira Toriyama's legendary shonen saga, picking up the narrative thread after the events of Dragon Ball Z. The manga series began serialization in V Jump in June 2015, following the story treatment provided by Toriyama with illustrative work by Toyotarou. Issue 20 serves as a pivotal chapter during the 'Future Trunks' arc, a fan-favorite narrative segment that reintroduced darker, high-stakes conflict to the series.

The aesthetic direction of the series was designed by Toyotarou to honor Toriyama's original kinetic style while adapting to the modern serialization standards of V Jump. The issue was received by the long-standing fan base as a significant development, as it delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding Zamasu and the encroaching threat of Goku Black. By prioritizing character-driven tension over pure spectacle, this installment helped solidify the series as a faithful, contemporary expansion of the original mythos.
