Fate/Grand Order: Epic of Remnant - Ashu Tokuiten III/Ashu Heikō Sekai: Shizan Ketsuga Butai, Shimōsa-no-Kuni - Eirei Kengō Nanaban Shōbu #1

This manga volume is the inaugural installment of the adaptation of the Shimōsa chapter from the Fate/Grand Order mobile game. Released in the late 2010s, it adapts the narrative written by Kinoko Nasu, which depicts a journey into a chaotic, alternate-history version of Edo-period Japan. The manga is illustrated by Rei Wataru, who was tasked with translating the game’s complex character designs and intense sword-fighting sequences into a serialized print format, balancing the source material’s dark, thematic atmosphere with the kinetic energy required for shonen-style action.

The Shimōsa arc is widely regarded by fans of the franchise as a standout chapter, noted for its focus on historical and legendary Japanese swordsmen. By distilling the game's expansive visual novel mechanics into a focused manga narrative, the series aimed to provide a more streamlined perspective on the conflict. Upon its release, the adaptation received positive feedback for its detailed combat choreography and the faithful rendition of the game's distinct, grim aesthetic, effectively serving as both a companion piece for players and an entry point for new readers.
