FemForce #96

FemForce #96 was published in 1999 by AC Comics as part of their long-running series featuring a team of golden-age inspired superheroines. The series was spearheaded by Bill Black, who sought to revive the spirit of comic book heroines from the 1940s and 50s, blending nostalgic tropes with contemporary comic book storytelling. This particular issue follows the series' established pattern of self-contained adventures often highlighted by the distinct, illustrative styles associated with AC Comics' independent aesthetic.

The creative direction for FemForce relies heavily on the 'good girl art' tradition, a stylistic choice that has defined the series since its inception in the mid-1980s. Designed for a niche audience of collectors who appreciate retro-style pulp adventure and character-driven ensemble casts, the book remains a staple of independent comic book history. While it occupies a specialized corner of the market, it is widely recognized by enthusiasts for its commitment to the aesthetic and narrative conventions of the bronze and copper age independent scene.
