FemForce #98

FemForce #98 was published by AC Comics in the late 1990s as part of their long-running superhero series centered on a team of powerful women. The series, which originated in the mid-1980s, was created by Bill Black as an homage to the Golden and Silver Age of comics, specifically focusing on classic tropes like jungle heroines, super-spies, and sci-fi adventurers. By the time issue #98 arrived, the series had established a niche but dedicated following for its nostalgic art style and commitment to character-driven stories within the AC Comics shared universe.

The aesthetic of FemForce is deeply rooted in the artistic traditions of the 1940s and 1950s, with Bill Black and various recurring contributors aiming to capture a 'retro' vitality that prioritized dynamic, bold character designs. Issue #98 maintains this tradition, serving as a continuation of the complex, ongoing narratives that define the series. The title has remained notable in comic book circles for its longevity as an independent publication, reflecting a persistent creator-owned vision that prioritized genre tradition over the prevailing trends of the mainstream comic industry during that era.
