Hanna-Barbera All-Stars #2

Hanna-Barbera All-Stars #2 was published by Archie Comics in 1996 as part of a series intended to bring classic animated icons back to the comic book medium. During the mid-1990s, Archie Comics held the license to produce titles featuring characters from the Hanna-Barbera library, capitalizing on a wave of nostalgia for mid-century television animation. The series was designed to function as an anthology, gathering various properties under a single banner to appeal to both younger readers and adult fans of the original broadcasts.

The editorial direction for this series focused on maintaining the lighthearted, episodic nature of the source material while utilizing a house style consistent with 1990s comic book aesthetics. While the specific creative teams varied by issue, the design approach remained rooted in honoring the visual legacies of characters like Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, and Top Cat. These comics were generally received as accessible, nostalgic offerings that prioritized familiar character archetypes over complex narrative arcs, serving as a modest extension of the studio's vast syndication history.
