Where it came from
Inukai-kun no Shippo serves as a spin-off to the popular BL manga series Koisuru Moon Dog, created by mangaka Ammitsu. This side story focuses on the character Inukai-kun, expanding on the romantic themes and werewolf-human dynamics established in the primary series. It was developed to cater to fans of the original work who desired further exploration of the secondary cast within the established fantasy-romance setting.
Ammitsu’s design for the series emphasizes soft, expressive character work and a gentle atmosphere characteristic of contemporary shojo and josei-leaning BL titles. The spin-off was produced during a period of high popularity for the main series, allowing for a focused narrative expansion. Upon its release, the volume was received as a charming supplement that maintained the visual aesthetic and emotional sincerity found in the flagship title.
