Kemono Jihen #22

Kemono Jihen is a supernatural mystery manga series written and illustrated by Sho Aimoto. Serialization began in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine in December 2016. The narrative centers on a young boy named Kabane who, after being ostracized in his remote village, joins an agency specializing in occult phenomena. Issue 22 serves as a pivotal installment within the ongoing collection of tankōbon volumes, which aggregate the individual magazine chapters into cohesive story arcs.

Aimoto’s design philosophy for the series balances gritty, dark fantasy aesthetics with the traditional expressive character tropes found in shōnen manga. The series has been noted for its deliberate shift from episodic investigations to deeper, more complex world-building as the volumes progress. Readers and critics have generally received the series favorably for its successful blend of horror, mystery, and character-driven drama, establishing it as a distinct entry in the contemporary manga landscape.
