Kemono Jihen #21

Kemono Jihen is a supernatural mystery manga series written and illustrated by Sho Aimoto. Originally serialized in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine beginning in 2016, the story follows a young half-human, half-ghoul boy named Kabane who is recruited by a detective specializing in the occult. The narrative is noted for its blending of dark fantasy themes with a procedural investigation style, contrasting the grim, often violent nature of the supernatural threats against the domestic, almost familial atmosphere of the detective agency.

Issue number 21 represents a specific volume or collected chapter milestone within this ongoing series. Sho Aimoto’s artistic style is characterized by expressive character designs and detailed linework that helps ground the series' more fantastical elements in a recognizable modern setting. Since its debut, the series has maintained a steady following for its character development and the slow-burn mystery surrounding Kabane's origins and his search for his parents, eventually leading to a successful anime adaptation in 2021.
