La Zorra y el Cuervo #101

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic magazine, established in the late 1960s to serve a dual purpose as both entertainment and a vehicle for satirical social commentary. The series drew inspiration from the classic Aesop fable but adapted the characters to reflect the realities and nuances of life in Cuba, often utilizing the clever fox and the gullible raven to navigate political themes and daily hardships through humor.

The visual identity of the series was defined by the Editorial Abril, which employed various Cuban artists who balanced traditional comic aesthetics with a distinct, often minimalist graphic style suited for newsprint. Issue 101 represents a period in the publication's run where it had become a staple of Cuban popular culture, deeply integrated into the state-sponsored media ecosystem. It was widely distributed across the island, serving as a primary source of light reading for generations, and remains a significant artifact for those documenting mid-to-late 20th-century Latin American graphic storytelling.
