La Zorra y el Cuervo #98

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic book series that enjoyed a lengthy run starting in the 1960s, published primarily by Editorial Pablo de la Torriente. The title centered on the classic fable archetypes of the fox and the crow, adapting them into a serialized format that became a staple of childhood reading for generations of Cubans. As a serial publication, issue 98 represents a specific moment in the magazine's evolution, reflecting the distinctive graphic style of the Cuban school of caricature and illustration that flourished during this period.

The character designs and narratives were shaped by a collective of Cuban illustrators and writers tasked with blending instructional moral tales with engaging, often satirical, anthropomorphic storytelling. By the time this issue was produced, the series had moved beyond simple fables to incorporate more complex situational humor and distinct character voices. These comics are historically significant today as artifacts of the cultural output of the era, illustrating how state-supported publishing houses maintained long-running, affordable entertainment for youth populations through modest, newsprint-style booklets.
