La Zorra y el Cuervo #214

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic magazine, published by Editorial Pablo de la Torriente in Havana. Launched in the late 1980s, the series served as a cornerstone of Cuban sequential art, bringing together a variety of contributors to explore both satirical social commentary and lighthearted humor. The publication was instrumental in maintaining a domestic print culture for children and young adults, reflecting the aesthetic shifts within Cuban graphic design during the post-revolutionary period.

The series became a platform for talented local illustrators and writers to showcase their work, often utilizing a distinct, stripped-back graphic style suited to the limitations of newsprint production at the time. Issue number 214 reflects the enduring nature of this anthology, which focused on the interplay between the titular fox and crow, reimagined through the lens of local humor. Despite the challenges of printing and distribution in Cuba, the magazine remained a sentimental favorite for generations of readers who grew up with the recurring characters and the accessible, episodic nature of the comic strips.
