La Zorra y el Cuervo #224

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban satirical and humor magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s. It served as a critical platform for political and social commentary, utilizing sharp wit and caricature to navigate the complex ideological landscape of the era. The magazine was a staple of Cuban cultural life, blending humor with a distinct aesthetic that evolved alongside the island’s graphic design traditions.

Issue #224 represents the magazine’s dedication to illustrative satire, featuring character-driven vignettes that typified the publication’s signature approach to social critique. The design leaned on expressive, fluid line work common in mid-century Latin American political illustration, intended to be accessible to a broad readership while maintaining a biting, intellectual edge. It remains a significant piece of ephemera for those documenting the intersection of post-revolutionary graphic arts and public discourse.
