La Zorra y el Cuervo #223

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban comic magazine, published by the Editorial Abril, which served as a staple for youth culture in Cuba for decades. Issue 223 emerged from a long-running series that adapted classic fables and introduced original characters, mirroring the style of international anthropomorphic comics while maintaining a distinct local editorial voice. These publications were designed to provide accessible, affordable entertainment and educational moral lessons to generations of Cuban children during the late 20th century.

The visual identity of the series relied on high-contrast, bold line work that prioritized readability and simple, expressive character designs. The illustrators for the series often balanced traditional caricature techniques with the logistical constraints of Cuban printing presses of the era. The magazine was widely received as a cultural touchstone, often traded between readers in schoolyards, and remains a nostalgic artifact representing the domestic print media landscape of the period.
