La Zorra y el Cuervo #249

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban satirical and humor magazine that began publication in 1965. Emerging from the post-revolutionary cultural landscape, the magazine functioned as a platform for political commentary, social satire, and graphic arts, serving as a vital outlet for Cuban illustrators to engage with both local and international themes through a distinctively critical lens.

The publication was noted for its integration of political caricature and comic strips, often utilizing anthropomorphic characters—namely the fox and the crow—to navigate complex socio-political narratives. The aesthetic of these issues relied on sharp, expressive line work and bold compositions characteristic of mid-century Cuban graphic design, a style intended to be accessible to a wide readership while maintaining the sophisticated wit demanded by its contributors.
