La Zorra y el Cuervo #247

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that debuted in the mid-1960s, serving as a primary outlet for political satire and social commentary. The publication was deeply influenced by the post-revolutionary cultural climate in Cuba, utilizing anthropomorphic characters—the fox and the crow—to navigate complex societal themes through wit and illustration. It functioned as a key platform for local cartoonists to develop a distinct style of graphic humor that balanced lighthearted entertainment with the prevailing ideological discourse of the era.

The artistic direction of the magazine was defined by the collaborative efforts of various Cuban graphic artists and writers who prioritized visual storytelling and sharp, accessible satire. Issue number 247 reflects the later stages of the magazine’s long-running tenure, showcasing a refined approach to caricature that had become the series' hallmark. Upon its release, the publication was widely regarded as a staple of Cuban newsstands, valued for its consistency in providing a humorous, if state-aligned, perspective on daily life and international affairs.
