La Zorra y el Cuervo #97

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine, first published in the 1960s, that served as a vital platform for satire and political caricature under the Cuban revolutionary government. The publication drew its inspiration from the classic Aesop fable, adopting a tone that blended social commentary with the characteristic wit of Latin American graphic humor. It became a staple of Cuban pop culture, reflecting the ideological landscape of the era through the lens of parody and visual storytelling.

The graphic style of the series was defined by bold, accessible lines and expressive character designs typical of mid-century political cartoons. Issue #97 represents a specific moment in this long-running series, which benefited from a rotating collective of talented Cuban illustrators who sought to balance state-sanctioned messaging with satirical entertainment. While the magazine’s specific artistic contributors were often credited within the publication, the series as a whole is remembered for its distinct regional identity and its role in maintaining a consistent dialogue with its readership over many decades.
