Linda och Valentins äventyr #8

Linda och Valentins äventyr #8, titled 'Den falska världen' in Swedish, is part of the long-running French science fiction comic series 'Valérian et Laureline'. Created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières, the series began in 1967 and became a cornerstone of European bande dessinée for its innovative blending of space opera, political satire, and complex character dynamics. This specific installment originally debuted in French as 'Le Pays sans étoiles' in 1972.

The narrative follows the titular agents as they navigate a fractured planet divided by a gender-based war, serving as a characteristic example of the series' tendency to use surreal interstellar settings to critique contemporary social structures. Mézières’ visual style in this era is celebrated for its intricate detail and imaginative alien designs, which heavily influenced the aesthetic of numerous science fiction films. The Swedish translation was published as part of the serialized domestic run that introduced these French classics to Scandinavian audiences.
