Linda og Valentin - Agenter i Tid og Rum #5

Linda og Valentin - Agenter i Tid og Rum, known internationally as Valérian and Laureline, was created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. The fifth issue, titled Ambassadøren som forsvandt, was originally published in French in 1971 as L'Ambassadeur des Ombres. It emerged during a period when the series was gaining significant traction for its sophisticated blend of space opera, political satire, and humanistic themes, often exploring complex social structures through the lens of a sprawling, multicultural galactic society.

The visual design of this volume is noted for Mézières' mastery of creature design and expansive, cluttered urban environments. This specific installment is widely cited by critics as a creative peak for the series, as it introduced an unprecedented variety of alien species that challenged the conventions of 1970s science fiction. The work's reception solidified the series' reputation as a foundational pillar of European comics, directly influencing the aesthetic trajectory of subsequent science fiction cinema.
