Linda og Valentin - Agenter i Tid og Rum #2

Originally published in France in 1970 as 'La Cité des eaux mouvantes' within the Pilote magazine, this second installment of the Valérian and Laureline series was created by writer Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mézières. The story follows the agents as they chase a villain across a post-apocalyptic New York, further establishing the series' signature blend of space opera, ecological commentary, and sociopolitical satire that distinguished it from the more traditional science fiction comics of the era.

The visual design of the album represents a pivotal point in Mézières' development of the series' aesthetic. Moving beyond simple adventure tropes, the artwork incorporates a distinct European sensibilities, utilizing intricate linework and vibrant colors to depict the flooded, ruinous landscapes of the future. The work was well-received by critics and readers alike, cementing the series as a foundational pillar of French bande dessinée and exerting a noted influence on the visual language of later science fiction cinema.
