Lupo Alberto Collection #18

Lupo Alberto, created by Guido Silvestri under the pseudonym Silver in 1973, began as a newspaper strip before expanding into a prolific series of collected volumes. The Lupo Alberto Collection was launched to organize these strips into chronological trade paperbacks, allowing readers to follow the evolving misadventures of Alberto the wolf and his girlfriend Marta on the McKenzie farm. Issue number 18 serves as part of this long-running editorial project, maintaining the consistent, humor-focused aesthetic that defined the series.

The design of the collection centers on Silver's signature minimalist line art and expressive character work, which was heavily influenced by the humor traditions of Italian comics and classic newspaper strips. Throughout the series, the publication sought to preserve the satirical edge of the original strips while providing a portable format for fans. The series is widely regarded as a cornerstone of Italian comic history, celebrated for its ability to balance slapstick physical comedy with social commentary regarding farm life and interpersonal relationships.
