Mandrake: Merlín el Mago #15

Mandrake: Merlín el Mago was a long-running Spanish comic book series that adapted the adventures of Lee Falk's classic illusionist, Mandrake the Magician. Published during the mid-20th century, these editions were part of a broader trend in Spain to bring American syndicated comic strips to a local audience, often repackaging the serialized newspaper stories into affordable, digest-sized booklets that became staples for young readers.

The character of Mandrake, originally illustrated by Phil Davis, was notable for its shift from pulp-style adventure to a blend of sophisticated stage magic and science fiction. In the Spanish editions, the artistic presentation often relied on faithful reproductions of the original panels, maintaining the clean lines and tuxedo-clad aesthetic that defined the character. These issues are now collected primarily for their role in the cultural dissemination of Golden Age comic strips within the Spanish-speaking world.
