Mandrake: Merlín el Mago #6

Mandrake: Merlín el Mago issue #6 belongs to a series of Spanish-language comic books published during the mid-20th century. These publications brought Lee Falk’s iconic character, Mandrake the Magician, to Spanish-speaking audiences, adapting the original newspaper strips into the popular comic book format that dominated newsstands of the era. The series served as a primary vessel for spreading the adventures of the tuxedo-clad illusionist beyond his American origins.

The visual identity of these issues often relied on a combination of original illustrative panels by Phil Davis, who co-created Mandrake and defined his classic, sharp-featured aesthetic, alongside localized cover art and editorial curation. These editions were well-received by fans of adventure and pulp fantasy, acting as a bridge between international syndication and domestic comic book culture. The design prioritized accessibility, ensuring the mystery and supernatural elements inherent in Mandrake’s stories remained central to the reader's experience.
