Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #25

Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves was a long-running supernatural anthology series published by Charlton Comics, beginning its run in 1967. The title followed the template of the popular horror anthologies of the era, featuring the titular Dr. Graves, an occult investigator who acted as a narrator and framing device for stories of the macabre and the unexplained. Issue number 25 was released during a period where Charlton relied heavily on low-cost production methods and a rotating stable of creators to maintain their niche in the competitive comic book market.

The art and stories within these issues were characterized by the distinctive, sometimes erratic, house style of Charlton Comics, often featuring work from artists like Tom Sutton or Steve Ditko, who contributed frequently to the publisher’s horror line. The series was designed to appeal to fans of EC Comics-style horror, emphasizing atmospheric suspense and twist endings. While the title never reached the industry-leading circulation of its peers, it remains a notable example of late-Silver Age horror anthology storytelling.
