Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #4

Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #4 was published in 1967 as part of a classic horror-anthology series from Charlton Comics. During this period, the publisher focused heavily on suspense-driven tales hosted by a recurring supernatural narrator, Dr. M.T. Graves, who guided readers through eerie encounters. This specific issue reflects the era's transition toward atmospheric, morality-based horror stories that avoided the extreme gore found in earlier pre-Code comic books.

The creative direction for the series relied heavily on the distinct visual style of artist Pat Boyette, whose moody, clean-lined work became synonymous with the title. Boyette’s approach aimed to evoke a sense of unease rather than shock, leaning into the gothic aesthetic that characterized Charlton’s mystery line. The series was well-regarded among genre enthusiasts for its consistency and for providing a platform for creators to refine the supernatural horror format within a tight editorial budget.
