Where it came from
Outre-Tombe #9 is part of the established Outre-Tombe series, a collection known for its exploration of gothic aesthetics and dark fantasy narratives. Released during a period when independent horror-themed publications were finding a dedicated niche among European enthusiasts, the series focused on atmospheric storytelling, blending visceral illustration with moody, evocative prose.
The design of this issue adheres to the series' signature visual identity, prioritizing stark contrasts and detailed line work to capture a sense of macabre elegance. Much like its predecessors, it was curated to serve both as a narrative installment and a piece of visual art, receiving recognition from fans of the macabre for its consistency in tone and commitment to the established stylistic boundaries of the broader collection.
