Where it came from
Palm was a notable literary and arts journal that emerged from the independent publishing scene in the early 20th century. Issue #45 fits within the publication's long-running commitment to showcasing avant-garde poetry, experimental prose, and critical essays, reflecting the modernist intellectual spirit that sought to break away from traditional academic constraints of the era.
The aesthetic of the series was defined by a minimalist approach to typography and layout, emphasizing the clarity of the text over ornamental design. This editorial philosophy was intended to provide a focused platform for contemporary writers to circulate their work among a niche audience of enthusiasts and peers, resulting in a clean, functional design that prioritized readability and archival longevity.
