Pounds of Power #4

Pounds of Power #4 is a distinct entry in the short-lived Pounds of Power series, a niche publication that emerged during the late 20th-century trend of enthusiast-driven instructional and bodybuilding literature. Created during an era when self-published fitness zines and specialized newsletters flourished, the series sought to synthesize weightlifting methodology with a more community-focused approach to physical culture.

The design of issue #4 reflects the utilitarian aesthetic common to independent fitness media of its time, prioritizing dense, text-heavy explanations of lifting techniques and program structures. While specific illustrator credits for this issue remain largely obscured by the informal nature of the publication's production, it is generally understood as a product of collective editorial efforts within the regional strength-training circuit, valued today by collectors of vintage physical culture ephemera for its candid, unfiltered perspective on historical training philosophies.
