Where it came from
Project Riese, a comic series exploring the mystery surrounding the unfinished Nazi subterranean construction project of the same name, was developed to blend historical conspiracy with speculative fiction. The series emerged from a growing fascination with the legends of the Owl Mountains in Poland, aiming to dramatize the rumors of secret weapons facilities and hidden caches left behind in the final months of World War II.
The artistic direction of the third issue centers on atmospheric tension, utilizing a stark, noir-inspired visual language to depict the protagonists’ descent into the labyrinthine tunnels. The creators intended for the series to serve as both a survival thriller and a commentary on the dark remnants of history, and it has been noted by readers of the genre for its commitment to historical settings while embracing its pulp-fiction roots.
