Where it came from
Psi-Lords #6 was published in 1994 as part of the short-lived Psi-Lords series from Image Comics, which operated under the publisher's Razorline imprint. The imprint was conceived by novelist Clive Barker as an experiment in blending superhero tropes with the darker, visceral horror sensibilities for which he was known, aiming to offer a more mature alternative to the standard comic fare of the early nineties.
The issue features the creative work of writer Joey Cavalieri and artist Marc Campos, who were tasked with continuing the cosmic, reality-bending narrative established by Barker. The series struggled to find a long-term foothold in a crowded comic market, but it remains a notable artifact of the creative cross-pollination between literary horror authors and the mainstream comic industry during the 1990s.
