Secrets of Haunted House #34

Secrets of Haunted House #34 was published by DC Comics in March 1981, emerging during a period when the publisher was leaning heavily into the horror anthology format. As part of a long-running series that succeeded the earlier House of Mystery and House of Secrets titles, this issue functioned as a standalone showcase for supernatural tales, reflecting the industry's attempt to maintain the popularity of eerie, gothic storytelling against the shifting tastes of the early eighties comics market.

The issue features work from established industry veterans who were staples of the DC horror stable at the time. The cover art and interior narratives were crafted by creators skilled in the atmospheric, suspense-heavy style characteristic of the era's suspense anthologies. While the series did not achieve the same legendary status as its predecessors, it remains a notable example of the house-style production that defined DC's horror output in the transition between the Bronze Age and the more experimental periods that followed.
