Sigurd #90

Sigurd is a long-running Swedish comic series that first debuted in 1937, created by the artist Germund Fogde. The series follows the adventures of the titular Viking protagonist, Sigurd, and is celebrated for its contribution to the Nordic adventure comic tradition. Issue #90 belongs to a period of the series that maintained the classic, straightforward storytelling style established by Fogde, characterized by bold linework and episodic, heroic narratives that resonated with generations of Scandinavian readers.

The publication of these issues often reflected the evolving aesthetic of mid-century adventure comics, prioritizing clear, action-oriented panels that favored visual clarity over complex layouts. Throughout its tenure, the series remained a staple of the Swedish comics market, valued for its consistent portrayal of Norse folklore and adventure archetypes. While specific editorial records for individual mid-run issues are scarce, the series as a whole is recognized for its enduring cultural presence and its role in shaping local interest in serialized graphic fiction.
