The Books of Magic #11

The Books of Magic series, initially launched in 1990 as a four-issue miniseries written by Neil Gaiman, was expanded into an ongoing monthly title by DC Comics under the Vertigo imprint in 1994. Issue number 11, published in 1995, continues the narrative of Timothy Hunter, a young boy prophesied to become the world's most powerful magician, as he traverses various realms of existence to learn the craft of sorcery.

The issue features the creative work of writer John Ney Rieber and artist Peter Snejbjerg. During this period, the series was characterized by its atmospheric, mythic storytelling and its exploration of themes regarding the price of power and the loss of innocence. The art direction aimed to capture the surreal and often dark landscapes of the DC magical universe, helping the series establish a distinct identity within the Vertigo catalog as a thoughtful, character-driven companion to the more mainstream superhero titles of the era.
