Ultimate Spider-Man #107

Ultimate Spider-Man #107, released in 2007, occupies a significant place in the 'Clone Saga' arc of the Ultimate Marvel imprint. Brian Michael Bendis continued his decade-long stewardship of the title, shifting the focus of the series toward complex, grounded reinterpretations of classic Spider-Man lore. This issue features interior art by Mark Bagley, whose collaboration with Bendis on this title established the visual identity of the entire Ultimate line, prioritizing a sleek, cinematic aesthetic that appealed to both long-time readers and a new generation of fans.

The narrative design of this issue centers on the existential turmoil of Peter Parker as he navigates the psychological ramifications of the clones introduced throughout the storyline. By deconstructing the high-concept science fiction elements of the original 1990s Clone Saga, Bendis and Bagley aimed to emphasize Peter’s internal struggle and his precarious relationship with his peers and family. The work was generally well-received for its tight pacing and the willingness of the creative team to take bold risks with foundational characters, solidifying the series' reputation as a cornerstone of modern comic book storytelling.
