Where it came from
Released in the mid-1950s, Daisy and Donald #25 is part of the long-running Dell Comics series that focused on the domestic and romantic misadventures of Disney's iconic duck duo. This era of publishing, managed by Western Printing and Lithographing Company, was characterized by high-volume production intended for newsstands and grocery stores, serving as a primary entertainment source for children in post-war America.
The interior art typically featured the house style established by the Disney studios, often utilizing clean, classic ink lines and bright, primary-color palettes consistent with the aesthetic of Carl Barks or his contemporaries. While individual stories in these issues were rarely credited to specific artists at the time, they were crafted to maintain the recognizable character traits and slapstick humor that had become synonymous with the Walt Disney brand's transition from animation to print.
