Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker #115

Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker #115 was published in 1965 as part of the long-running Dell and later Gold Key comic book series based on the iconic animated character. These comics expanded the zany, high-energy world of Woody Woodpecker beyond the theatrical shorts, providing a medium for writers and artists to experiment with comedic gags and serialized adventures that reached a younger, postwar generation of readers.

The visual style of these issues typically followed the house style established by the Walter Lantz Studio, prioritizing clear, expressive character designs that remained consistent with the animated cartoons. While individual artists were rarely credited during this period of production, the work remains representative of the mid-century comics industry's effort to translate television and film personalities into static, episodic storytelling for mass-market newsstand distribution.
