Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1 was published by Marvel Comics in February 1992, following the conclusion of the influential Infinity Gauntlet limited series. Written by Jim Starlin and illustrated by Angel Medina, the title was created to explore the aftermath of the cosmic event, focusing on Adam Warlock's stewardship of the Infinity Gems. The series was designed as a character-driven expansion of Marvel's cosmic landscape, establishing a team tasked with guarding the powerful artifacts to ensure they would never be combined again.

The book arrived at the height of the 1990s speculative comic boom, characterized by high-concept cosmic storytelling and intricate ensemble dynamics. Jim Starlin, who had been instrumental in shaping the character of Adam Warlock since the 1970s, utilized the series to delve into themes of morality and power, while Angel Medina provided a distinct visual style that helped define the aesthetic of Marvel's space-faring titles during that decade. It was received as a significant expansion of the cosmic mythos, serving as a cornerstone for Marvel's interconnected galactic narratives throughout the mid-1990s.
