Warlock and the Infinity Watch #4

Warlock and the Infinity Watch #4 was published in May 1992 as part of the expansion of the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe following the conclusion of The Infinity Gauntlet. Created by writer Jim Starlin and illustrator Angel Medina, the series was designed to showcase the reformed Infinity Watch, a group tasked with guarding the powerful Infinity Gems. Starlin aimed to balance philosophical introspection with high-stakes space opera, establishing Adam Warlock as a complex, reluctant leader navigating the tensions between his diverse and often volatile team members.

The art by Angel Medina provided a distinct, gritty aesthetic that helped anchor the fantastical narrative in a tangible reality. Upon release, the issue served as a pivotal chapter in defining the individual personalities of the group, particularly in their interactions with the enigmatic Thanos. While the series was a cornerstone of 1990s cosmic Marvel, it was received as a deliberate tonal departure from the more grounded street-level books of the era, ultimately securing its place as a essential read for fans of Marvel's late twentieth-century cosmic mythos.
