Warlock and the Infinity Watch #17

Warlock and the Infinity Watch number 17 was released in 1993 as part of the broader aftermath of the Marvel Comics crossover event The Infinity War. The series was designed to explore the stewardship of the Infinity Gems, with this specific issue serving as a tie-in to the subsequent Infinity Crusade storyline. It was written by Jim Starlin, who was the primary architect of Adam Warlock’s modern mythology, and illustrated by Angel Medina, whose expressive, high-energy style became a hallmark of the title during this era.

The issue focuses on the philosophical and cosmic dilemmas faced by Warlock and his allies as they grapple with the growing threat posed by the Goddess. During this period of the 1990s, the title was lauded by fans for its ambitious, dense continuity and its commitment to cosmic-scale stakes. While the series often navigated the complex intersection of superhero action and existential inquiry, the design and tone remained firmly rooted in the bold, vibrant aesthetic that defined Starlin’s long tenure with the character.
