Wǒ yǔ Jīqìzi #6

Wǒ yǔ Jīqìzi, translating to Me and My Robot, emerged during a period of significant cultural expansion in Chinese juvenile literature and comics. This series was conceived to explore the burgeoning relationship between children and technology, blending elements of science fiction with relatable school-life tropes. Issue number 6 serves as a middle-period entry in this narrative arc, reflecting the thematic shift toward more complex interpersonal dynamics between the protagonist and their mechanical companion as the series gained a dedicated following among young readers.

The visual identity of the series is defined by a clean, approachable illustrative style that prioritizes clarity and character expressiveness. Designers for the series aimed to bridge the gap between traditional manga aesthetics and domestic storytelling, opting for vibrant panels that emphasize the friendly, non-threatening nature of the robotic characters. Upon its release, the series was well-received by educational and entertainment circles for its optimistic portrayal of human-machine coexistence, marking it as a notable example of late-era print serials in the genre.
