Wǒ yǔ Jīqìzi #7

Wǒ yǔ Jīqìzi (Me and My Robot) emerged during the mid-2000s surge of Chinese science fiction and humor comics aimed at younger readers. Issue #7 was produced as part of an episodic series that explored the burgeoning interest in artificial intelligence and personal technology within urban Chinese society. The publication served as a lighthearted commentary on the intersection of daily student life and futuristic gadgets, blending traditional manhua art styles with contemporary pop culture references.

The character design and visual direction for the series were influenced by the minimalist aesthetic popular in early 2000s graphic serials, focusing on clean lines and expressive, exaggerated facial features for comedic effect. While the series was never intended for a global audience, it became a noteworthy example of the era's domestic comics industry, receiving modest critical acclaim for its ability to balance whimsical storytelling with the technological anxieties common to its adolescent readership.
