Big Boy (Blue)

The Big Boy Funko Pop, numbered 24 in the Pop! Ad Icons line, was released to celebrate the long-standing cultural footprint of the Big Boy restaurant chain. Originating in 1936, the iconic mascot—characterized by his signature pompadour and checkered overalls—became an emblem of mid-century American roadside culture. This figure captures the classic aesthetic of the mascot, tapping into the nostalgia associated with the restaurant's history and its recognizable branding.

Funko’s Ad Icons series, which includes this figure, was designed to honor the mascots and corporate characters that shaped twentieth-century advertising. The designers focused on translating the mascot’s stylized, cartoonish proportions into the signature Pop! aesthetic, featuring the oversized head and minimalist details that define the brand. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors of pop culture memorabilia and those interested in the history of American commercial icons.
