Chester Cheetah (Glow)

Chester Cheetah first appeared as the mascot for Cheetos in 1986, originally created by the advertising agency DDB Needham. His transformation from a crafty, smooth-talking character into a widely recognized pop culture icon culminated in his inclusion as a Funko Pop figure. This specific version, number 174, celebrates the Cheddar Jalapeno Crunchy variety, highlighting the brand's shift toward bolder, spicier flavor profiles in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

The figure was designed to mirror the stylized, oversized aesthetic typical of the Funko Pop line, emphasizing Chester's signature sunglasses and sneakers. By incorporating a glow-in-the-dark feature, Funko aimed to appeal to both long-time brand loyalists and the specialized collector market that values variants. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic collectible that bridged the gap between snack food advertising history and modern pop-culture merchandising.
