Chester Cheetah (with Crunchy Cheetos)

Chester Cheetah first appeared as the mascot for Cheetos in 1986, conceived by the advertising agency DDB Needham. Created to embody a 'cool' and mischievous persona, he replaced the earlier Cheetos Mouse to resonate with a younger demographic during the late eighties. The character became a cultural fixture through television commercials, typically depicted as a suave, sunglasses-wearing predator whose primary motivation is the pursuit of snack food.

Funko introduced this Pop! Ad Icons figure, numbered 78, as part of their dedicated line celebrating iconic brand mascots. Designed to capture Chester's signature look, the figure features him holding a bag of Crunchy Cheetos, mirroring his classic animated aesthetic. The Ad Icons series is known for its focus on nostalgia and corporate iconography, and this release was received as a straightforward, faithful representation of a familiar advertising staple within the pop culture collecting community.
