Where it came from
Chip, the mischievous chipmunk from the 1943 short Private Pluto, was released as part of the Funko Pop! Disney line under the Mickey and Friends banner. Funko introduced these figures to celebrate the enduring legacy of classic animation characters, translating their distinct features into the stylized, large-headed vinyl aesthetic that defines the brand.
The design of this specific figure draws directly from the iconic appearance of Chip and Dale, characterized by their small stature, dark noses, and expressive facial features. As part of a broader series aimed at both nostalgic fans and modern collectors, the piece was developed to provide an accessible, uniform way to display classic Disney personalities alongside other figures within the expansive Pop! ecosystem.
