Where it came from
The Coca-Cola Polar Bear first appeared in television advertisements for the brand in 1993, created by the agency Edge Creative for a campaign titled 'Always Coca-Cola.' These animated bears were designed to evoke a sense of playfulness and winter nostalgia, utilizing sophisticated computer-generated imagery that was cutting-edge for the era. The characters quickly became synonymous with the brand's identity, effectively bridging the gap between holiday tradition and modern marketing.
Funko introduced the Coca-Cola Polar Bear as number 58 in their Ad Icons Pop! series to celebrate the enduring legacy of the brand's mascots. The figure captures the bear's signature look, featuring the iconic red scarf and the classic glass Coca-Cola bottle. As part of the wider Ad Icons line, the figure was designed to appeal to collectors interested in the intersection of commercial history and contemporary pop culture, receiving a positive reception for its faithful translation of the polished animation into the stylized vinyl format.
