Where it came from
Evil-Lyn was released as part of the Funko Pop! Retro Toys line, specifically capturing the iconic villainess from the Masters of the Universe franchise. Originally introduced by Mattel in the early 1980s, the character serves as the primary magic-wielder and strategist for Skeletor, defined by her signature yellow skin, purple attire, and staff topped with a crystal orb. This Funko iteration pays homage to her classic vintage appearance, distilling her complex toy design into the standardized, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of the Pop! brand.
The figure features the distinct sculpting conventions of the Retro Toys series, focusing on nostalgia by recreating the visual shorthand of 1980s action figure line art. Designed to appeal to long-time fans of the Filmation-animated series and the original toy line, the figure highlights the character’s mysterious and cunning persona. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors who prioritize the completion of their Masters of the Universe lineups, serving as a staple representation of the series' secondary antagonist in modern vinyl form.
